I envision myself as a future mental health therapist augmented with an empathetic A.I. system called “Emp(A)th(I)c.”
OVERVIEW
"Emp(A)th(I)c" is a concept in which empathy is supported by artificial intelligence. Further, it supports mental therapists to be more empathetic with their patients.
Emp(A)th(I)c harnesses the power of the digital world by drawing data from the internet and tracking peoples’ digital footprints in order to give the most relevant life advice and improve people’s mental and emotional well-being. When a mental therapist provides advice, emp(A)th(I)c assists them to give the most suitable advice optimized to the user’s digital footprint.
INSPIRATION
-
How will mental therapy in general change with advances in technology?
-
How may A.I. extend a person’s ability to share an empathetic connection with another human being?
-
Most of us leave a digital trail of our daily activities on a daily basis, whether it’s ordering from Amazon, updating a Facebook status, or getting a ride with Uber. This digital trail closely follows and mirrors our real lives. What if we could leverage this wealth of information for our own mental well-being?
-
It is impossible to create A.I. as empathetic as the Dalai Lama. However, I think it is definitely possible to make ourselves more empathetic listeners using A.I
