I have worked as a creative consultant for broadcasting companies, colleges, and government-affiliated agencies. Specializing in creative contents using new media, I delivered holistic, innovative solutions that optimize ideas, people, and resources. I purposely construct movements for social change.

 

ADVISOR IN MULTICULTURAL COMMUNITIES

From 2014 to 2015, I worked as a lecturer and key advisor of the “Hallyu” (Spread of Korean Culture) program; teaching various topics such as Korean pop, history, and food to international students at the Institute of International Education at Kyung-Hee University. 

 

I was also invited by the Korean government to act as a panelist on various seminars and forums on issues related to multicultural society. I provided strategic counsel and presented a public policy proposal  on multicultural communities at the National Assembly in Yeouido. Additionally, I led multiple engagements with the Korean broadcasting media as a creative director.

Hallyu(韓流, Spread of Korean Culture) program

Lecturer and Key Advisor

The Institute of International Education at Kyung-Hee University was established in 1970 to promote the foreign language program at the university; where 6,000+ students from over 80 nations gain an immersive multicultural experience in Korean culture.

 

My role in the Hallyu Program:

     

  • Advisor and instructor teaching various topics such as Korean pop, history, and food to foreign exchange students  (University of Washington, Defense Language Institute –USA, Griffith University – Australia, Niigata University of International and Information – Japan).          

  • Restructured the program curriculum by optimizing multimedia tools to aid the exchange students. The curriculum was customized according to the nation/institution the students belonged to.

In 2014, I worked alongside Assemblyman Sang-IL Lee of the New Frontier Party as well as Professor Jungsup Kim, the dean of the Institute of International Education at Kyung-Hee University. Together, we worked on creating a comprehensive and detailed policy proposal on Korea’s multicultural future and relevant fields. The primary research objective was on empowering Koreans from minority groups, and creating vehicles to facilitate their integration into greater Korean society. The policy proposal was presented at the National Assembly during the Korean Parliamentary Internal Audit of 2014. 

I have also worked as a creative consultant, bringing about ideas to various Korean TV programs in addition to providing advice regarding new technologies on multiple TV shows.

  • 1st Place, National Ideas Contest to publicize South Korea’s Jeju Island (2011)

       Chosen among 250 entries by Dr. Un-Chan Chung, the Former Prime Minister of Republic of Korea

  • 3rd Place, Film Contest - Jeju island for New 7 Wonders of Nature (2011)

       Selected by Google & the South Korean Presidential Council on Nation Branding

 

  • Certificate of Appreciation - Contributions to the Green Environment Program and the New7Wonders of Nature Campaign (2011)              

        Awarded by Dr. Hyangsik Hur, Chancellor of the JEJU National University, Republic of Korea

In 2013, I was appointed as a member of the General Advisory Committee under the discretion of the Public Diplomacy Division by the Korean government.
